INDOOR POOL
Dachau, Germany

The building site is in the southern area of the outdoor swimming pool area. The open-air swimming pool was created from the historic river baths of the Amper and has a park-like character.

The spatial program places varying demands on the building and includes large areas such as the 25x20m sports pool as well as small offices and ancillary rooms. To preserve the park character of the outdoor pool and to avoid urban sprawl, the new indoor pool should unite all functions under one roof in a compact structure.

The chosen floor plan of the new Dachau indoor swimming pool takes all specifications into account and is also accessible from the inner environments. The building is given a curved, homogeneous shell of aluminium cladding. This gives the building a pavilion-like character that blends perfectly into the park of the outdoor pool.
